Online or Tele-Therapy

If you’re like me, you want therapy – you need a calm space to stop, breathe, organize your thoughts and make some changes. But your life is crazy busy and the thought of another appointment, driving through the horrible traffic just feels overwhelming. That’s where online counseling can be the perfect solution. I was interviewed last week by a reporter at KSL TV about the online counseling we do - and I realized that we haven’t been letting people know about it as an option for getting help. So, lets talk about it!

The good news is; the American Psychiatric Association says that, “Telepsychiatry is equivalent to in-person care in diagnostic accuracy, treatment effectiveness, quality of care and patient satisfaction.” Yay! Also, we use secure websites that ensure confidentiality – so you can relax and not worry about your privacy. Now you can just find a private space, lock the door, log on to your computer and you are ready to go. We send you a link that takes you to the webite and your session. Easy Peasy.

We have found it super helpful for people who travel for work, or teens who don’t have transportation to the office. It’s also great for people with disabilities or dibiltating anxiety or phobias. It isn’t for everyone – things like being suicidal or having PTSD are better dealt with in the office. And some people prefer the office and like being with the therapist in person. But for those with time or other constraints; it’s perfect.
